Rodrigo Arboleda is currently Chairman and CEO f One Laptop per Child Association (OLPC). OLPC has delivered more than 2 million laptops to children in more than 35 countries and 21 languages worldwide.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

To all our South African Friends (and now to our friends in Africa and all over the world):

A great man has departed to better and more peaceful pastures. He leaves behind a legacy of unprecedented importance to humanity. One of reconciliation and peace. One of equality under the eyes of not only that Superior Being but, most important, among ourselves. One of humbleness and perseverance. One of dignity and simplicity. One of elegance but without losing the common touch. A smile the melted the hardest minds and souls. A spark in his eyes that inspired hope and foresaw better times.

 We all have a lot to learn from this great man. We will miss him as a beacon of enlightenment and vision.
