Please mail my child one he did not get one.

Lot X, ashville highway, strawberry plains TN, USA

It may be some time before every child has a laptop, and most will end up paying for their own or getting it through their school system / local community. We simply help make the right hackable designs available at cost.

My name is Marion Taylor, I do mission work in the Village of Samburu, East Africa. There are 200 children in the village at this time. When I saw this project, I instantly knew, the children of Samburu needed this program to motovate and incourage them to learn. My passion is to help these kids get an excellent education. Will the 2010 Summit in SF help me to understand more about the project. Thru fundraising, I plan to purchase over 200 laptops.

Please note, these laptops arefor contributors -- people who are working on projects or outreach that will support deployments around the world.

Linda and Jun, please see the work taking place via OLPC Haiti and OLPC Philippines. Isaac, it's good to hear about the progress at Konyao; I hope you will be involved in the future work being done by OLPC Kenya. There is a brunch discussing this and other African projects this weekend.

I would love to have one of your free laptops for my grand children. The oldest is 9 years old and this would be a very good learning tool. Maybe if this works out I could purchase the rest of them for my other 4 grandchildren.
Thank you,
Cindy

Tell me more about this offer. I have a 4 year old granddaughter that is hearing impaired (totally deaf) and loves working on the computer. Sadly, computers are quite expensive and we haven't been able to find an inexpensive one that can help her. She is learning sign language and I'm searching for ways to help her learn. Parents are both fulltime students and currently have no income so I'd like to help somehow. Is it possible to purchase one of these computers? What is the cost? Is this offer only for third world countries or do you also consider help in the US? Please respond.

Aloha,
Dinah
